At AWBDP we offer a dental bridge as one of the options of replacing missing teeth:
Dental bridges are an effective and natural looking way of replacing one or more missing teeth, resulting in giving you a more natural and aesthetically pleasing smile. As they are cemented to your natural teeth you do not have to remove them everyday and are easier to maintain.
There are different types of bridge: a Maryland Bridge, where minimal tooth adjacement is needed and a Fixed Bridge, where more teeth adjustment is needed, more like in a crown.
A bridge can be made with the help of one adjacent tooth (Cantilever Bridge) or of both the teeth on either side of gap (Fixed Fixed Bridge). Bridges can be made from different materials such as Zirconia, porcelain, gold or alloy.
What it involves:
Your dentist at the initial appointment, will assess your suitability for a dental bridge and advise you on which type of bridge serves your purpose more. The whole treatment is done over two appointments. After the initial discussion and deciding on which type of bridge is best suited for you, your dentist will prepare the adjacent tooth/teeth and then take impressions.
The tooth shade and shape is all noted down to match your natural teeth. These impressions are sent off to a dental lab, where your bespoke bridge is fabricated and then sent back to us. In the second appointment we then check the fit and make any necessary adjustments to your bridge to ensure a seamless transition into your bite and smile, before cementing it into place.
